Short Beach

City Hall, from the mail box.

Short Beach California is a little spit of land on the ocean between Long Beach and Orange County. While not part of any municipality it contains a beach house, a taco truck, and a mail box. The sign says "Welcome to Short Beach" on both sides.

Short Beach is owned by Maynard G. Krebs, a sly old man and his grandson Ernie M. Krebs.

Krebs somehow managed to get his little spit of land in a position where it is not in the borders of any municipality. No city codes, no city taxes, no city police. The only way that can change is by vote of the Short Beach landowners, one Maynard G. Krebs. This is not likely to happen. He likes falling between the cracks.

Krebs and his tiny unincorporated "town" are too small for the local cities to bother with.

  • Beach House -- Residence of Maynard G. Krebs and city hall.
  • Taco Truck -- Jose's Tacos is parked across the street from city hall Monday thru Saturday. It is otherwise known as "the kitchen".
  • Mail Box -- A postal drop for the US mail.
