The French equivalent of Bureau 13. This group is now historical.

Département des choses inexistant was known for not dealing in messy personal rights issues. If an issue was a problem, they vanished. Easier for them, easier for the government, no messy loose ends or questions.

They unlike Britain or the USA did not have issues with aliens or supernatural stuff. Such things did not exist within the Departments of France and they saw to it. France was a rational nation not prone to madness that brings on such issues.

The Département des choses inexistant like Mi-13 was a smaller organization. They headquarter in the sub-basement of the Palais Bourbon in Paris, the home of the National Assembly.

Recent Events[]

Recently the entire department was dropped from the French governmental computers. Yes the computers forgot they existed. The Department was still trying to dig itself out of that hole when the end came. It is suspected that one of the many AIs pulled the prank, but no one's digital fingerprints are on the work.

The only certain known is it was not the Ane. When asked they flatly said it wasn't them. They are known for that honesty thing.

The attacks continued. To Wit:

  • 20 hours of arctic cold blowing from the Arch de Triumph.
  • Fifty Mexican drug cartel soldiers dropped on Paris streets by a vortex of body parts.
  • Every telemarketer robo-call in the WORLD routed to their phones. (thank you)
  • A sign offering public tours of the facility did appear outside the 'Palais Bourbon.

Whoever it was, was trolling them HARD.

The existent of the 'Département des choses inexistant hit the French Tabloids. The government finished scrubbing the department off the books. It was dissolved.

Bureau File[]

We were not been able to get the idea of Breakout across to the Département des choses inexistant. They categorically refused to admit that there is anything they could not control. This agency was going to hamper efforts to prepare the world for the Breakout.

The end of the Département des choses inexistant does not necessarily indicate a shift in the French attitude. It remains to be seen how they will be replaced. Both Abteilung U and Mi-13 have reached out to the French government with coping offers. So far the French government has been French and is denying any need for help.
